The list, below, detailing the sessions built into the NeuroAdvantageTrainer, represents a small taste of the breadth of light & sound sessions that can assist the individual with his or her efforts at self-improvement, relaxation and peace, improved focus and attention, or healing. The Codes (A1 through C6) help explain the purposes ot the Sessions: "A" Sessions for calming and slowing, "B" Sessions for focusing and activating, "C" Sessions for specialized areas, such as assisting with sleep and specific stressors.

The NeuroAdvantage is fully customizable and expandable. The listed sessions can be changed and added to in ways to suit individual needs precisely. Remember that one of the best things about the NeuroAdvantage is how enjoyable it is to use while you are doing something good for yourself! Light & Sound Sessions on the following list can easily be added to using CD or MP3 technology. Please contact your NeuroAdvantage representative for further information.

Types of Trainer Sessions:

·         Concert—Concert sessions stimulate both hemispheres at the same frequency.

·         Variable Frequency (VF)—VF sessions vary the frequency both hemispheres are stimulated at in one-tenth hertz increments every 2 to 4 seconds over a pre-defined range (e.g., 13 to 15hz).

·         Differential Frequency (DF)—DF sessions stimulate each hemisphere at a different frequency to help correct the hemispheric imbalances.

·         Alternating Bilateral (AB)—AB sessions use slow alternating “back and forth” bilateral stimulation of the right and left hemispheres.  Square Light Wave (SW)—SW sessions take advantage of the increased power of sharper, more “square” light waves and should only be used after at least one month of experience using the Trainer.

Description of Sessions:

[A1] Schumann Resonance—Concert:  This session strengthens 7.8hz which is the boundary between alpha and theta waves.  High levels of this brainwave pattern are common during deep trance-like meditation.  This session is deeply relaxing and fosters a pleasant sense of inner calmness and serenity.

[A2] Longer Schumann—Concert: Take a few more minutes to enjoy the point of Schumann’s ‘earth resonance’ discovery when you have a half an hour to give to develop your peace and creativity.

[A3] Alpha/Theta—VF & SW: This session combines variable frequencies at the boundary between alpha and theta waves with square light waves to foster longer-lasting effects.

[A4] Healthy Alpha—Concert:  Healthy alpha is set at 10hz or greater.  Most behavioral health disorders have alpha slowing with the majority of alpha waves below 10hz.  This session helps to re-establish the natural alpha rhythm and is a good starting point for anyone using the Trainer.

[A5] Dream Maker—Concert:  This session fosters a prolonged dream-like theta state to enhance creativity and rejuvenate your mind

[A6] Sub-Delta—Concert: This session uses the very slow and easy-going .5 to 1hz rhythm to calm the hypothalamus.

[B1] Sensory Motor Rhythm (SMR)—Concert:  This session fosters relaxed focused attention and is often used for peak performance training.

[B2] Alpha to Beta—VF:  This session starts in alpha and gradually increases the stimulation frequency to the low to mid-beta range thereby guiding you towards a deeper state of physical peace and mental clarity.

[B3] SMR—VF & SW:  This quick and powerful session uses the sensory motor rhythm to calm the body and focus the mind for any activity.  Square light waves and variable frequency patterns enhance this session’s SMR effects.

[B4] Longer SMR—VF & SW:  The 30 minutes of square light waves and variable frequency patterns further enhance this session’s SMR effects.

[B5] Beta—VF & SW:  The session fosters long-lasting focused attention and increased energy levels. This session should not be used by people prone to anxiety.

[B6] Beta Perker—Concert: This session promotes focused attention and has been used in research studies for both Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

[C1] Mood Lifter—DF:  This session stimulates the right hemisphere at 10hz alpha to calm the negative ruminating thinking and agitation that are common in people struggling with depression, anxiety, and cravings while stimulating the under-activated left hemisphere at 19hz to rebalance alpha symmetry.

[C2] Enhanced Learning & Focus—DF:  This session stimulates the right hemisphere at 14hz and uses rapid transitions stimulating the left hemisphere at 10 and 18hz.  This session enhances mental focus and has been used in several ADHD studies.

[C3] Brain Brightener—DF: This session is similar to Enhanced Learning (C2) but uses gentle transitions more comfortable for adults.  The session has been used in several studies with seniors to improve mental function, memory, and mood.

[C4] Mindfulness Opening—AB & VF:   This session’s first 10 minutes uses alternating "back-and forth" bilateral stimulation followed by 20 minutes of variable frequency patterns starting @ 10hz alpha and gradually increasing to 16hz.  Mindfulness training requires that we repeatedly bring our attention back, returning to the origin of consciousness.  This session makes subtle changes in the sound and the light to re-orient your mind to itself, while taking advantage of the Trainer’s ability to enhance focus and energy levels for learning how to meditate.  Use only with the audio coaching CD designed for this session.

[C5] Meditate to Sleep—Concert:  This sessions starts at 8hz to foster relaxation and then gradually decreases to 3hz for sleep.  The very slow 3 hz pulse matches and encourages the brain’s own natural sleeping brainwave rhythm.

[C6] Let It Go—AB & Concert:  This session’s first 20 minutes uses alternating “back-and-forth” bilateral stimulation of the brain’s left and right hemispheres to help you focus on difficulties and then let go of negative emotions.  Research has found that alternating sensory stimulation reduces the nervous system’s level of arousal and associated negative emotions.  The session ends with 15 minutes of the Schumann Resonance (7.8 Hz) to help integrate thoughts and soothe feelings.  Use only with one of the audio coaching CDs designed for this session.
